Socks

Finished my 2nd pair of socks. This time I used size 0 circular needles I stead of size 1. My stitches are tighter and the socks fit better. I used Patrons Kroy Socks in the color gray brown marl.

Happypotomus

Finished my 3rd Happypotumus. She's about 26 inches long. She is crocheted with worsted weight yarn from a pattern by Heidi Bears, found on Revelry. The smallest is made with size 10 thread and the middle size one is made with size 3 crochet thread.

2nd Pair of Socks

I finally started my 2nd pair of socks. For the first pair I used size 1 needles. They came out a little loose. (I am a loose knitter.) This time I'm using size 0 that I got for Christmas. I know I didn't start at the same point of the 2 skeins of yarn, but that's all right, they will be fraternal twins not identical twins.

My First Socks

My first pair of hand knitted socks -- well, except for baby socks. This is the first pair to fit me. I used the pattern called Flawless Socks, but instead of the heel on the pattern I used Fish Lips Kiss Heel. both patterns can be found on Ravelry. The yarn is Cat Tails Yarn, from Covington, LA. I used a 40" circular size 1 Addi. I tend to knit really loose so for the next pair I got a size 0. I thought I would try the Chiaogoo. I did magic loop, two at a time.

Adalia Shawl

This is the Adalia Shawl. It is crocheted with Lion Brand Shawl in a Cake Metallic yarn. It took 2 cakes. I only went to row 54 on the pattern because the pattern called for fingering weight yarn and what I used was worsted weight. It's a very pretty pattern with a pretty shell edging.

Bumblebee Hat

I got the pattern for this bumblebees hat from Repeatcrafter me.com. I used soft worsted weight yarn. I don't remember which yarn I used but possibly I Love This Yarn.

Sleepy Dragon

Another toy! This one is the Sleepy Dragon found on Amigurumi To Go. I used Red Heart Super Saver. I ran out of the two main colors so I did part in light pink.

Prayer Blanket

This is a prayer blanket I knitted for the St. Ann Prayer Blanket Group a few years ago. It is knitted corner to corner with the basic dish cloth pattern. Easy pattern and diagonal stripes look nice.

Hat, Mask, and Cowl

Just finished this set for my daughter, who lives in Alaska. I used Cascade 220 Superwash, which is 100% Merino. I didn't have a pattern. The mask is held on with buttons that are attached to the hat. I hope this will keep her warm in the snow.

Sunday, January 10, 2021

This is a set of 2 hats and a pair of fingerless mittens I knitted for Katherine last year. She already had a scarf to match. She did have a hat but she machine washed and dried it so, since it is wool, it shrunk. After locating the right yarn I made her these. The variegated yarn is Manos del Uruguay Silk Blend. The bright pink is Cascade 100% Peruvian Highland wool. The 2 purple yarns are Australian Superfine Merino. The fingerless gloves are a pattern from Yarn aspirations. The first hat is the Slouched Tuva Hat (found on Revelry). The second hat is a basic hat with a ribbed brim tall enough to fold up.

Waffle Baby Blanket

This is a baby blanket I crocheted. It is a front post and back post stitch that makes a waffle pattern. I then put a single crochet border around it in 2 colors. It is very soft and squishy. I used Pound of Love yarn. It comes in a variety of colors and is machine washable. I think that is a very important feature in a baby item.

Bonbon Bunnies

I knitted these bunnies a few years ago. I really like the pattern. The arms and legs and legs are knitted on so there are no pieces to sew together afterwards. Really cute pattern. It is called Bonbon by Susan Claudino-Aguilar. It can be found on Ravelry.

Heirloom Baby Blanket

I made this a few years ago. It is called Treasured Heirloom Baby Blanket. It is a Lion Brand pattern. You can find it on Ravelry. I think I used Baby Coordinates yarn. It's nice and soft. I don't have it any more. I think I sold it.

Hats

I knitted a bunch of striped hats. The hat in the back row on the left is crocheted, but the rest are knitted. So, there ate two things to consider here. First, I like color. Second, I don't like to waste even small amounts of yarn; especially if it's a color or a yarn that I really like. So the result is stripes.

Dream Shawl

I crocheted this shawl a year or two ago. I call it my Dream Shawl because I saw the design in a dream. The next day I decided that if my mom could choreograph dances in her dreams I could design crocheted things in my dreams. I had done this wave pattern on a scarf before, but I had never seen it done on a pattern where I would have increases and decreases. It is worked from one side to the other with a leaning shell on the bottom edge.
