Newborn Post Stitch Brim Flower Hat

Materials: Bernat Softee Baby, size F crochet hook

Size: 0-3 mths.

Directions:

Foundation dc 60 times.

Join to form circle, careful not to twist.

Rnd 1: Ch 2 (does not count as first dc), dc in same st and in each st around, join. (60)

Rnd 2-4: Ch 2, fpdc (front post double crochet), in first st, bpdc (back post double crochet) in next st, * fpdc in next st, bpdc in next st, repeat from * around.

Rnd 5-10: ch 2, dc in same st and in each st around, join.

Rnd 11: ch 2, dc dec in 1^st 2 sts, dc in next 4 sts, * dc dec in next 2 sts, dc in next 4 sts, repeat from * around, join.

Rnd 12: ch 2, dc dec in 1^st 2 sts, dc in next 3 sts, * dc dec in next 2 sts, dc in next 3 sts, repeat from * around, join.

Rnd 13: ch 2, dc dec in 1^st 2 sts, dc in next 2 sts, * dc dec in next 2 sts, dc in next 2 sts, repeat from * around, join.

Rnd 14: ch 2, dc dec in 1^st 2 sts, dc in next st, * dc dec in next 2 sts, dc in next st, repeat from * around, join.

Rnd 15: ch 2 dc dec around, join.

Fasten off. Close opening in top of hat and weave in ends.

Flower

Start with magic loop. 6 sc in loop, join.

Rnd 1: ch 1, sc in same st, ch 6, sc in same st, * sc in next st, ch 6, sc in same st, repeat from * around until you have 6 ch loops, join to first sc.

Rnd 2: In each ch-6 loop (sc, hdc, 6 dc, hdc, sc), join to first sc in first loop.

Fasten off.

Sew flower to hat.
