Four hand sewn felt Scotties.

These hats and mittens are to be donated. The red and white hat, the red and black hat, and the pink striped earflap hat are all crocheted but the other two hats and all of the mittens are all knitted. Making stripes is a good way to use up leftover balls of yarn.

Under the Boardwalk costume

This is a tap costume. They are dancing to "Under the Boardwalk." Pink satin and white sequin braid.

Crocheted Owl Purse

It is a birthday present for a little girl I take care of 3 days a week. She will be 2 years old soon.

Knitted scarves

Here are 2 scarves I made. The first one with the horizontal stripes I just finished last night. It is knitted with Fantasy Naturale Yarn which is 100% cotton. It is to be donated to the Knitz 4 Vetz sponsored by The Knit With store in Pennsylvania. The second scarf is knitted using the mistake rib pattern. I believe I used mostly Vanna's Choice Yarn and Michael's Impeccable Yarn. One reason for this scarf is to use up leftover bits of yarn and the other reason for making this scarf is because I thought it would look nice.

Mr. Sandman costume

This costume is for a ballet. They dance to "Mr. Sandman."

Swimming Hole costume

This is for a tap dance. The song they are dancing to is "Swimming Hole." The straps are tied in bows at the shoulders. It is hard to tie them when the child is not wearing it. The other large bow is for the back of the head. It will be attached to a hair clip or barrette.

You Are My Sunshine costume

This costume is for a ballet dance. They are dancing to "You Are My Sunshine." The headpiece is a ruffle across the top of the head with sequin braid down the center of the ruffle. It is glued onto a headband so it can quickly be put on.

Yellow Polka Dot costume

This is the first costume finished for this year's dancing revue. This is for a tap dance. They are dancing to "Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polka Dot Bikini." I couldn't find yellow satin with polka dots so I made my own polka dots out of black satin and ironed them on. The yellow dots have interfacing ironed onto the back so they won't ravel and they won't be too flimsy.

Baby Hat & Booties

Another crocheted pink baby hat and booties. This one is a bonnet with white ribbon ties.

Pink ribbed crocheted baby hat and booties. The booties each have 3 tiny white flowers across the front.

Crocheted flowers or coasters. I used Lion Brand BonBons Yarn. It's called a Ray Flower. I got the pattern from the book "Crochet Bouquet: Easy Designs for Dozens of Flowers" by Suzann Thompson.

These are crocheted potholders. I don't actually use them, they just hang on the wall.

Crocheted flowers to put on hair clips, head bands, or pins. I like to put the pins on my purses.

This is a baby afghan I made. It is made with Simply Soft yarn. It matches the Christening Bonnet.

This is a broomstick lace scarf I just finished. I used 1 skein of Universal Yarn Classic Shades. The color is called Roman Candle. It is 70% acrylic and 30% wool. I used a size K crochet hook and a size 50 knitting needle. It is 20 stitches across. 5 stitches in each group. I found a You Tube video with instructions on how to do this. There are a lot of videos and they all looked basically the same.

These are 2 more scarves I made for Knitz 4 Vetz. They are made with Cascade Superwash 220. One striped and one with the pattern called "The Road Scarf". 

I got this really cute polka dot fleece at JoAnn's on sale the day after Thanksgiving. I made the holes with the skip-stitch rotary blade, then put the crocheted edge on it. This one is for the St. Ann Sewing Seams of Faith group. I got enough fleece to make another one for a Christmas gift.

This is the sweater I knitted for Gybsen for Christmas. I used Cotton Ease yarn and I got the pattern from here http://www.worldvision.org/content.nsf/getinvolved/knit-for-kids?Open&lpos=ctr_txt_knit-for-kids

I chose Cotton Ease yarn because I didn't want it to be too hot. I did have to use a smaller needle size, probably because of the yarn I was using. I added a bit to the sleeves. After I sewed the top seams together I knitted across the ends of the sleeves for 12 rows then I switched colors and put a ribbed cuff the same number of rows as the ribbed part on the bottom. Then sewed up the sides and arms and Voila!

Really cute checkbook covers. No more boring checkbook covers for me. These take no time at all to sew up.

I just finished lining this purse. It is crocheted with black acrylic yarn. It is lined with black, red, white, and gray striped material and has red pockets. It has a magnetic snap closure. I added a wide red satin ribbon for some color.

These are 2 of the scarves I made for Knitz 4 Vetz. It is a project for a knit shop called The Knit With. It is in Philadelphia. They are collecting scarves for wounded soldiers in a hospital in PA. Many of the soldiers have skin grafts so they are requesting all natural fibers in the scarves. These are made with Cascade 220 Superwash. It is a lovely soft yarn to knit with and to touch. After using this yarn I am spoiled. It will be difficult to go back to other yarns that are not as soft.

I made these 3 angry birds. Crocheted bean bags and felt faces glued on with felt glue. I'm going to make some piggies next.

I just made this double pointed knitting needle holder. I got tired of keeping them in a zip lock bag.

Drop Stitch Scarf

This is a drop stitch scarf made with size 17 knitting needles and Trendsetter Dolce Yarn. It is a ribbon yarn. I really like the colors. It is blue, lavender, green, and yellow. It is only about 2 1/2 inches wide but it is 82 inches long.

Chain / Necklace / Cuff

This neat chain can be worn around the neck or around the wrist. It is so light that it can be worn in the summertime. 

Red headbands

A red crocheted flower headband and a heart headband. The headbands are covered with red knitting ribbon. The red flower came from the book "Crochet Bouquet: Easy Designs for Dozens of Flowers" and the hearts came from the pattern here http://planetmfiles.com/2010/01/26/free-crochet-heart-pattern/

One Row Reversible Scarf

This is a knitted scarf. The pattern can be found here http://turvid.blogspot.com/2009/03/free-pattern-one-row-lace-scarf.html It is about 7" wide and about 62" wide. I used mohair yarn and size 10 needles. The yarn is pretty thin, probably fingering weight.

Frilly Scarf

These scarves were a lot easier to make than they look. All you do is knit in the edge of the ribbon. The yarn is Filatura Di Crosa by Moda.

Little Girl's flower Headband

I did this this morning. The headband is wrapped with hot pink knitting ribbon. The flower is crocheted with 100% cotton yarn. I don't remember the brand. The pattern for the flower came from the book "Crochet Bouquet - Easy Designs for Dozens of Flowers" by Suzann Thompson.

Fan Scarf

I saw this scarf here http://sunshinescreations.vintagethreads.com/2010/12/boku-crochet-fan-scarf.html She got the pattern from a bookmark pattern. I did it with some fuzzy blue yarn that I had in my stash.

Coasters and napkins

The napkins are just square pieces of the same fabric which is hemmed.

White stripes prayer blanket

I haven't put any new pictures up in a while because I have been busy making dance revue costumes. But, I did manage to finish this white striped prayer blanket. It is knitted diagonally just like a washcloth. 12 rows of white then 2 rows of a different color. It is a prayer blanket for the St. Ann Sewing Seams of Faith.

Scarf, Hat, & Mittens

This set was done for a 9 year old girl for Christmas. The scarf and hat are crocheted and the mittens are knitted.

Waves Sock Yarn Scarf

Flower Fun

The first picture is crocheted flowers and the second picture is felt flowers. It is fun making them. I like to put them on purses. They would also be really cute attached to a hat or a hair clip.
